Roy Geronemus, M.D.

Roy Geronemus, M.D., the director of Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York, has helped develop new laser systems therapeutic techniques now common throughout the world. A board-certified cosmetic dermatologist, he currently serves as a clinical professor of dermatology at NYU Medical Center, where served nine years as chief of dermatologic and laser surgery; chairman of the board of directors at the New York Stem Cell Foundation; and president of the New York Dermatologic Society.

Dr. Geronemus has been a featured speaker of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. The author of over 240 medical articles, chapters and books, Dr. Geronemus has been listed in New York Magazine’s best doctors in New York 23 times, and 16 times as one of the best doctors in America.

Dr. Geronemus earned the Samuel J. Stegman Award for distinguished service from ASDS; and the Physician of the Year honor and 2014 Humanitarian Award by the Vascular Birthmark Foundation. He is past president of ASDS and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, and has also been elected to the University of Miami School of Medicine’s Hall of Fame.

Dr. Geronemus holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and M.D. from the University of Miami School of Medicine. At the New York University Medical Center, he trained in dermatology as the chief resident and completed a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology.
